Brand-specific gas fireplace support

A Valor fireplace that beeps, ignores the remote or returns to pilot needs its control system identified before a part is ordered. The handset, receiver, batteries and gas controls work together. A lit remote screen does not confirm that the receiver has power.

Start with the Valor model and control generation

Valor publishes separate appliance, installation and control instructions. Its resource library includes H3, H5 and G4 families, as well as older models. The product name is useful, but the full model and serial number establish the correct service reference. Photograph the remote too; Valor Plus, Max and Valor 10 instructions are not a single interchangeable reset procedure.

Some Valor control combinations include automatic pilot shutoff or flame turndown. A timed change can be intended behaviour. Compare the timing with your exact control guide before calling it a failing valve.

Describe what happens when you request heat

What you notice What needs to be separated
Remote display works; fireplace does nothing Handset operation, receiver power, approved pairing and the ignition sequence.
Beeps, then no reliable ignition The meaning of the model-specific sound, battery condition and where ignition stops.
Pilot lights; main flame does not follow The burner request, control response and gas-control operation.
Fireplace returns to pilot after a predictable interval Programmed temperature or timer behaviour versus a repeatable operating fault.

Repair the fault; replace the confirmed component

Tell us whether the problem began after a battery change, seasonal shutdown or a new remote. Keep a short video of the sound or display if it can be recorded without repeating failed ignition attempts. This is more useful than ordering a receiver because someone with a different Valor model had similar symptoms.

A settings or battery problem may need no replacement part. A confirmed damaged receiver, handset, cable, pilot component or gas control needs a compatible service part. Ask whether the quotation includes just the failed item or a required matching control set, installation and a complete operating check.

For a warranty enquiry, keep the purchase and installation documents and contact the selling authorised dealer. A diagnostic appointment with Bernoulli is separate from manufacturer warranty approval.

When a replacement fireplace becomes worth comparing

Compare replacement when approved controls or glass cannot be obtained, several faults overlap, or the existing appliance no longer suits the room. The comparison should include the venting, opening, finish and intended heat output. A receiver problem alone does not establish that the whole fireplace needs replacing.

Questions before you book

Do all Valor remotes use the same batteries?

Use the battery types and locations in the manual for your handset and fireplace. Check both user-serviceable battery locations when the manual identifies them.

Can I buy a different Valor remote and pair it?

First verify the handset and receiver combination against the appliance and control documents. Similar appearance is not a compatibility check.

Local repair and your next decision

Bernoulli Heating & Cooling serves Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Book a diagnostic visit for a fault, choose fireplace service for planned maintenance, or compare fireplace installation and replacement when the appliance needs changing.

The existing-fireplace diagnostic appointment is $135. Repair labour, approved parts and required materials are extra. See what the diagnostic fee covers before booking.

For local appointment information, use Vancouver fireplace repair, North Vancouver fireplace repair or Richmond fireplace repair. Send the model, serial photo, city and a brief description with your request.

Manufacturer references

Use the document for the exact appliance, fuel, revision and installed accessories. The examples on this page explain decisions; they do not identify a replacement part for your fireplace.
